For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Today’s message
There are times when God does not change what is around us. He changes what is inside. If you are firm inside, the outside will align. I say this in faith: govern your thoughts. They come as intruders, suggesting, pressing, interpreting everything. You cannot stop the bird from flying over your head, but you don't let it make a nest. Today I want to walk with you in this unseen war and show you how to decide what stays and what goes from your mind.
Paul called this a war. He said we have mighty weapons in God to destroy strongholds and bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Strongholds are old ideas, old lies, filters that become walls. The enemy tries to place a question mark where God has already put a period. The Bible does not deny the struggle; it gives governance. When the word occupies the center, the mind learns to obey Christ, even when the circumstances outside still scream.
The Origins of Thoughts — Identify the Source
- Strength of circumstances: visible problems amplify the theme in the mind and saturate the gaze.
- Emotional issues: untreated wounds feed internal narratives; seek Christian counseling.
- Spiritual origin: arrows from the evil one suggest shortcuts and doubts; discern and resist in Christ.
Govern your thoughts.
Look at Paul: troubled, yet not distressed; perplexed, yet not in despair. He prayed three times about the thorn and heard: my grace is sufficient for you. God does not always remove the weight from the outside; He strengthens from the inside. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas were imprisoned. The body in chains, the mind in worship. They sang. This is governance: not allowing the outside problem to dominate your inside mind. When the heart is firm, the outside finds a way.
Practical Steps to Govern the Mind
- Respond with the Word: when the suggestion comes, declare — it is written.
- Pray about the repetitive thought and hand it over to God until the pressure ceases.
- Replace the lie with biblical truth; study and fill the void with light.
- Act practically: make a plan (finances, family) and work with prayer.
- Teach your children early, with the truth, to form correct filters.
- Cut ties with pagan spiritual practices; do not negotiate with darkness.
I want to pray that the peace of Christ guards your heart and mind. But I also want your agreement: identify the origin, close the door, and fill the space with truth. Do not feed forebodings, envy, fantasies. When the question mark arises, remember God's period. Govern your thoughts. The Holy Spirit is with you. If everything is well inside, the outside will soon be fixed.
