Today’s message
Who is Jesus to you? I start like this because everything in our faith depends on this answer. We look at people in history and remember the mark they left. And Jesus, what mark does He leave on you? I don't want a mosaic of opinions. I want biblical clarity. Without Jesus at the center, our worship loses meaning. So I sit with you and return to the question from Caesarea Philippi. Not to theorize, but to firm the ground: the identity of Christ, the foundation of the Christian life.
The Bible says the Word became flesh. God entered our story with body, mind, and emotions. In Christ, all the fullness of the deity dwells in bodily form. It's not a myth, it's not an idea: it's incarnation. That's why I ask again: who is Jesus to you? It's not enough to call Him teacher or light. He is God with us, who walked our streets, sweated in His work, loved people, touched wounds. And in this perfect flesh, He revealed how God planned true humanity.
Three historical confusions that I need you to discard
- Arianism: human body, but divine mind; this denies the real human mind of Jesus.
- Eutychianism: the Word became a superior being, neither man nor God — an improper mix.
- Nestorianism: two persons alternating — sometimes God, sometimes man; it fragments the unique person.
Jesus, the 100% God man.
Keep this firmly: Jesus was 100% man, 100% God in the same person. He felt hunger, fatigue, joy, and pain. He was tempted in every way, but did not sin. And He did not use divinity as a shortcut. He obeyed as the perfect man, the second Adam. Therefore, do not normalize sin by saying 'it's my humanity.' Sin makes us inhuman. In Christ, we see humanity as God planned: clean, obedient, whole. In Him, we find forgiveness and the standard of life.
Practical decisions I ask you to make today
- Define, before God, who Jesus is to you and return to the center.
- Stop using the word 'human' as an excuse; when tempted, choose not to give in.
- Renounce a sinful habit out of love for Jesus and tell someone you trust.
- Love the formation of Christ in you: study, work, pray, and obey consistently.
I pray that the Holy Spirit roots this truth in us: I need to fall in love with Jesus; I need to be rooted in Jesus. Worship is not performance, it's a life centered on the incarnate God. Return to the question from Matthew: Who do people say? And you, who do you say? Answer with your mouth and with concrete choices. The Word became flesh. Following Jesus is living, by grace, the humanity He revealed and offers us.
