Do Not Run from the Problem

Courage to face what God has put before you, without slowing down in fear.

Read

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away. He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

Today’s message

Do not run from the problem. I know how it is: we freeze right where God told us to move forward. You want to continue, and when you realize it, you have already stalled. Paul described this: the things I want to do, I do not do; the things I do not want to do, I do without noticing. This tension is real. But running away from what needs to be resolved only prolongs the pain. There are stories we do not finish, giants that do not fall, because we turn our backs. Today I urge you to face it head-on. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is obeying even while trembling, believing that God is with us.

Look at Eleazar. Israel saw the size of the enemy and ran away. He stayed. He rose and advanced until his hand was weary and stuck to the sword. In the end, the text says that the LORD wrought a great victory, and the people only returned to gather the spoils. I love this: the steadfastness of one, under the hand of God, changed the outcome for all. Sometimes you will be alone in the valley, but you will not be without Heaven. Stand firm, fight, and see the deliverance that only God can bring.

What I learn from this scene

  1. When everyone flees, faith is to remain in the place of obedience.
  2. Rising up and going against the enemy is a decision, not a feeling.
  3. Hand glued to the sword: will and tool become one.
  4. The victory is the LORD's, but He uses those who do not retreat.
  5. Many only show up for the spoils; few face the living lion.
The extraordinary life is reserved for those who do not give up on battles.

Let me open my heart. I saw my wife fall while skiing and break her hand. It hurts to remember. If she had gone straight, she would have made it; she tried to brake on the ice and fell. That taught me something that applies to life with God: in certain terrains, braking is what brings you down. If you are afraid, but God is with you, do not brake. Keep going in the direction He pointed out. Some wounds of the soul came not from fighting too much, but from giving up too soon.

Where you need to stop braking

  1. Stagnant businesses that God has already told you to adjust and reopen.
  2. Shelved dreams that ask for a clear step today, not tomorrow.
  3. Research and studies that you postpone because you find them difficult.
  4. Relationships that require honest conversation and practical forgiveness.
  5. Projects stuck by others' logic: move forward with faith and work.

Look at David: he ran towards the giant. It is this spirit that I ask God to ignite in you today. Combine your will with the tool He has given you: Word, work, discipline, prayer. Become one with it and advance. You will never run from a problem again, because, in the name of Jesus, everything that has risen to paralyze will be removed. The extraordinary life is reserved for those who do not give up on battles. Stand up. Stay. Run in the right direction. The Lord will bring great deliverance.
