Today’s message
I look at the beginning of everything and see God creating with the word: Let there be light, let it be formed. First, He brings clarity; then, firmness. This is the model: faith that illuminates and solid ground before building. I enter Genesis 6:9 and find Noah — just, upright, walking with God — in the midst of a corrupted generation. God loves to start where no one expects: in the clear, with direction. If He called Noah there, He can sustain you here. The question is: will we walk with God even when the ground seems shaky?
I know the pedigree excuse. Lamech, Methuselah, Enoch… and me? And you? Romans 12:2 hits me in the face: do not conform; renew your mind. Did you not have an inheritance? You have the Word. Is the environment hostile? Welcome to the real world: even inside the church there are distractions, WhatsApp, fatigue. At home, at work, in traffic, the pressure comes. Noah teaches me: it is possible to remain. Not because the surroundings help, but because God sustains those who choose to walk with Him in the dark with the light of faith.
The most important thing is whether God is with you.
First, second, and third (about Noah)
- First: survive in a hostile environment — maintain integrity when everything around pushes down.
- Second: mission — God asks for what exceeds our expertise; obey even without a manual in hand.
- Third: purpose — salvation; the ark points to Christ, the only place of life amid judgment.
When I read Genesis 6:14, I hear: Make for yourself an ark. Noah was a farmer; he had no naval engineering course. God asks for something too big. And I learn: talent matters, effort matters, planning matters — but what decides is God's approval. The most important thing is whether God is with you. Discover the mission and remember the purpose: salvation. Don't know where to start? Live in such a way that your lifestyle builds bridges for people to enter that ark.
Resources to fulfill the mission
- Family: covenant in Genesis 6:18 — I involve my own to row with me in the same direction.
- Word and knowledge: Bible in hand to discern sin and truth; less guessing, more Scripture.
- Lifestyle that preaches: Mark 16:15 — if you don't know how to speak, live in such a way that the gospel is visible.
- Intimacy with the Holy Spirit: pray simply and directly — Holy Spirit, I want to perceive you and obey.
What is the purpose of this mission? Salvation. All have sinned (Romans 3:23), and it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment (Hebrews 9:27). The ark was the only place of life; Christ is our ark today. In Luke 16, eternity is not a metaphor. So, I decide: stop outsourcing my faith to the environment, renew my mind, involve my house, open my mouth when needed, and, above all, live in such a way that leads people into Christ.
