What Jesus Sees in You
Forgiveness that generates love and renewal when we humble ourselves like the woman who anointed Jesus.
Today’s passage
Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.

Today’s message
God loves to start from where no one expects: a basket turning into a refuge in the river, a Pharisee's table turning into an altar of repentance. I look at that house and see two scenes. Simon wants to evaluate Jesus from the outside; the woman enters and pours herself out from within. One thought: 'If he were a prophet...'. She thought: 'If I touch his feet, there is forgiveness.' When reputation becomes a shackle, the heart hardens. But when the heart bows, heaven opens. There is renewal when we stop posing strong and start to love much because we have been forgiven much.
The text is clear: Jesus contrasts coldness and surrender. Simon offered a chair; the woman offered tears. He judged; she knelt. There, Jesus does not measure resumes or pasts. He sees true thirst. Where there is repentance, there is a word that breaks chains. I believe this: just one word, and old chains fall. It is not religious theater; it is an encounter. It is not noise for its own sake; it is humble faith. Whoever recognizes they have nothing to pay with hears: 'Forgiven.' And where there is forgiveness, new love is born.
Three gestures that Simon did not make and she did
- Water for the feet: she gave tears — cleansing of the soul before God.
- Holy kiss: she kissed — reverent affection, nothing performative.
- Oil on the head: she anointed the feet — worship that goes down to the ground.
There is renewal in the house!
I want to lead you to a simple and decisive place: less reputation, more character. Reputation is what people say; character is what God sees when no one sees. Money buys expensive perfume, but it does not buy peace. The agenda buys an audience, but it does not buy redemption. When we recognize our failure, the Holy Spirit cooperates, consoles, and convinces. Then, what was pressing us inside begins to loosen. The mind organizes, the chest breathes, and the house has good wind circulating again.
Responses I call you to live today
- Confess your sins honestly and bow before the Lord.
- Invoke the Holy Spirit: ask for cleansing of thoughts and understanding.
- Touch people with mercy: declare renewal and peace, not judgment.
- Resist the tyranny of reputation: choose character and repentance.
I believe in what Jesus said in that room: whoever has been forgiven much loves much. That is where renewal comes from. It is not loose emotion; it is poured grace. Place yourself, like that woman, at his feet. Bring what you have: tears, perfume, fatigue, everything. He knows who you are and still receives you. Keep listening in your heart: forgiveness, peace, clarity. May the wind of the Spirit circulate in your house. There is renewal in the house. Rise with this in your heart and walk in obedience.

- A denarius generally equaled a day's wage; in the parable, 500 and 50 show forgiveness in different measures, but the same grace.
