Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ; just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love;

Today’s message
I start by remembering Tim Grey: sixty years on the streets and heir to nineteen million dollars. He died without knowing. Many people live like this in faith: carrying an inheritance they do not know. Along the way, labels stick: incapable, irrecoverable, burden. Who said you are this? The enemy works with deception, blinds and accuses you to forget who you are in Christ. Today I want to confront these names and shine the light of the Word on your identity. If the Bible says it, I believe it. And when we believe, we let the past stop governing the present.
Paul does not start Ephesians demanding performance. He opens by saying: God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Already. We do not chase love to deserve it; we seek holiness because we have been loved and blessed. He chose us before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless. This redefines everything: identity precedes behavior. You are not defined by yesterday's mistake or by someone else's label. What God says remains when everything else passes. Open Ephesians 1 with a pen and mark who God says you are.
12 characteristics of our identity in Jesus
- Holy — set apart for God, not disposable.
- Blessed — every spiritual blessing has already reached us in Christ.
- Chosen — selected in Him, not by chance.
- Adopted — predestined to be children through Jesus.
- Pleasing in the Beloved — God welcomes us in Christ.
- Redemption — the blood of Jesus has rescued us.
He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
Do you see? It is not theory to decorate notebooks. Identity shapes practice. When I know I am an heir, I stop begging for approval. When I know I have been forgiven, I do not negotiate with guilt. When I know I am sealed, I reject accusation. I want to give you three reasons why we need to return to this always:
Three reasons to know your identity in Christ
- No one lives fully what they do not know — ignorance steals inheritance.
- Identity shapes behavior — we think, act, and decide from it.
- Knowledge strengthens faith — the truth sets free and sustains in the evil day.
So, do this simply and firmly: read Ephesians 1 with a pen. Mark every verb in the past that God has already done for you. When the old label comes, respond with Scripture. The devil is a liar and accuser, but you have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. The Spirit is the pledge of your inheritance. Walk today as one who has a owner, name, and destiny in Christ. You were not born for shallow waters; God calls you to the ocean of His purpose.
