There is still time to change

If Jesus entered Jericho for Zacchaeus, He enters your story today.

Today’s message

I opened this theme clearly: there is still time to change. I speak to people who have built a life, made decisions, and carried traumas. You look back and think: I arrived too late. Today I tell you what I said to my own heart: when God enters the story, there is a promise over us. It is not to deny what hurt. It is to allow Jesus to find you where you are and change the course, as He has done many times with those who thought they had missed their chance.

Luke 19 guides me. Zacchaeus had money, a name, and a noisy emptiness. He climbed a fig tree to see Jesus pass by, and Jesus stopped under it. He called him by name and scheduled a meeting at his house: today I must stay at your house. Zacchaeus hurried down and welcomed Him gladly. While the crowd judged, grace was at work. The result? Repentance that leads to a new path. Guilt paralyzes; repentance moves forward. Jesus did not schedule for later. He entered and changed the logic of the house that very day.

This message is for two people

  1. For those who have never surrendered their life to Jesus thinking it was too late — today He is coming to your house.
  2. For those who have walked with Jesus and have drifted away — God has found you again; it's time to return.

There is still time to change.

Do not turn repentance into condemnation. Repentance is admitting the truth and taking the next step. Condemnation is camping in shame. Look at Zacchaeus: he confesses and decides to make amends. Grace does not ignore the past; it unties the knot and points to a new way of living. And I insist: you do not need to recover all the lost time. You need to take advantage of the time you still have. An honest step today is worth more than a hundred promises for later.

Maybe you feel read by the crowd and canceled by memory. Jesus reads you by name. He does not say let's schedule; He says it's today. If the repentance is genuine, the path will be extraordinary in the name of Jesus. Get down from the tree of control, open the door, and sit with Him. Is there a repair to be made? Start. Is there someone you need to ask for forgiveness? Seek them out. When Jesus enters, salvation enters too, and the house learns to breathe again.

Did you know

  • Zacchaeus promises to repay four times as much, aligned with the reparation expected in Exodus 22:1 for theft.
  • Jericho was on a strategic trade route and housed tax collection, the context of Zacchaeus' profession.
  • Zacchaeus means pure or innocent in Hebrew — an irony that highlights transformation by grace.
