Unclogging the Wells of Promise

Keep digging: fight, resist, and God will make room — restore the springs He entrusted to you.

Read

And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.

Today’s message

God gave me this word and I carry it as an inheritance. Isaac received wells from Abraham. Life buried under the sand. When the father died, the Philistines rushed to clog them. This is how it is in transitions: the enemy tries to cancel what is already ours. Don’t fight for what God has already sealed; guard and restore. Wells are promises, anointing, old words. Where there is a well, there is a future. If they have messed with your well, it’s not a sign of abandonment. It’s a sign of value. Whoever carries a spring becomes a threat. So today, I call you: unclog.

I look at Genesis and see Isaac choose the shovel instead of the sword. He returned to his father's places and reopened springs. He called them by the same names. Honor, continuity, flow. I remember the woman who anointed Jesus: her offering disturbed those who do not give. Miracle provokes reaction. The debris appears after revival. But the response is not murmuring. It’s digging. In Christ, we know: in all these things we are more than conquerors. Not because there is no opposition, but because the water starts to flow again when we insist in the right direction.

The stages of a promise

  1. First comes the struggle: the news of the inheritance ignites envy and they try to cover the springs.
  2. Then comes the resistance: we insist, we are opposed, but we do not give up what God has given.
  3. Then comes the enlargement: God makes room, the water flows, and prosperity reaches the land.
It’s time to unclog wells.

I want to give you the names that Isaac gave to the reopened wells. This is not a detail. It’s a journey map. Each name carries a diagnosis and a promise. If you identify where you are, you won’t waste time in the wrong fight. Adjust your heart, keep the shovel in hand, and move on.

The reopened wells on the way

  1. Contention: people dispute, provoke, try to take what is yours. Don’t stop there.
  2. Accusation: twisted words surround you. Don’t enter the discussion room.
  3. Reobote: God makes room. Opposition tires, the water overcomes the desert.

I apply this to you: return to the origin where God found you. Reopen the simplicity of worship. Speak life over forgotten promises. Protect your inheritance with your mouth and hands: declare and dig. When contention comes, retreat from the litigation and advance in the work. When accusation comes, be silent to men and speak to God. And when the space opens, do not exalt yourself: plant, serve, and let the water flow for many.
